Dr. Prasanna Venkataraman is a consultant heart failure and imaging cardiologist with a public appointment at Northern Health.

He has an accomplished academic and medical training record. Prasanna completed an imaging fellowship at St Vincents Hospital following advanced training at Eastern Health, Royal Melbourne Hospital and Peninsula Health. He has a strong interest in research with a PhD through the Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute / Monash University in the areas of primary prevention, risk assessment and cardiac CT and has published in multiple high impact journals.

He completed a bachelor of medicine / bachelor of Laws degree at Monash University in 2009 as well as a diploma in health economics and policy. He also has a special interest in global health and health policy. He has worked as a World Health Organisation consultant in the Asia Pacific region and at public policy think tanks.
