Cardiac Imaging
Coronary CT angiogram (CTCA)
A Coronary CT Angiogram (CTCA) is a highly advanced, non-invasive imaging test used to look specifically at the arteries that supply blood to your heart. Unlike traditional angiograms, which require a catheter to be inserted into the heart, a CTCA uses a high-resolution CT scanner and an injection of contrast dye to create detailed 3D images of your coronary arteries.
CTCA is the gold standard for:
Detecting the early build-up of plaque or calcium in the artery walls.
Identifying blockages or narrowing of the arteries (coronary artery disease).
Evaluating the cause of chest pain or shortness of breath.
