New Patient Information
Preparing for Your Initial Consultation
After your booking has been made you will receive a welcome letter with some new patient forms to fill in. If you are unable to fill them in online could you please arrive 5 minutes early of your appointment time to complete them upon arrival.
New patient appointments range between 30-45 minutes, depending on the complexity of your referral and medical history.
A family member or support person is welcome to attend to help with decision-making.
Your specialist will consult with you, may perform an ECG and might recommend further diagnostic tests.
Fees, Charges, and Payments
Melbourne Cardiology Group are private consulting rooms. Your consultation is subject to a private fee, with Medicare rebates available on the day for patients with a current referral. Full pricing details are on your patient registration form.
Payment is required on the day of your consultation.
We accept all major credit cards, cash and cheques.
Some specific appointments require a deposit and all Telehealth consultations require prepayment

You must bring a valid, current letter of referral from your General Practitioner or referring specialist to your appointment. Without a valid referral, Medicare will not issue a rebate for your session.

Melbourne Cardiology Group provides a comprehensive range of diagnostic cardiac services for patients over the age of 16. The majority of these services are bulk-billed subject to MBS criteria although some attract a fee.

24-hour Holter monitoring
24-hour BP monitoring (fee applicable)
Exercise Stress Testing & Exercise Stress ECG
Transthoracic echocardiography (TTE)
ECG (fee applicable)
28 Day Heart Bugs (fee applicable)
Pacemaker and implantable cardiac device monitoring (fee applicable)
Cardiac Procedures and imaging (consult prior)

If your specialist orders further diagnostic tests, you will complete them at one of our various locations. Once the results are ready, your specialist will analyse the findings and meet with you for a follow-up appointment to explain your treatment options or care plan.
